Common questions
Are these tools free?
Yes. The mock interview and the STAR checker each give you 2 tries with no sign-up. After that, your email opens a free Leap English Pathways account with 10 a day for each tool. The English score checker has no limit. There is no card and nothing to cancel.
Who are the tools for?
Anyone who applies for jobs in English: students and graduates looking for casual, part-time or graduate work, and people starting out in a new country. The selection criteria guides follow Australian practice, where jobs in government, universities, health and not-for-profits ask for them.
Will the tools write my answers for me?
No. They give feedback on what you wrote or said. When the checker builds a stronger version, it uses only your own facts and leaves gaps for numbers you need to add. Employers expect your answers to be true and your own, and the Australian Public Service Commission says so in its 2026 principles for candidates.
Do you keep my answers?
We delete a recording as soon as it is marked. Without an account, your text and your feedback stay for 30 days, then we delete them. You can delete an answer at any time from its result.
What English score do I need for a job in Australia?
Most employers do not ask for a test score, but some visas, registrations and skills assessments do. The English score checker shows the PTE and IELTS scores for the 485, 482 and 186 visas, nursing registration and the main skills assessments.
