How it is scored

Your answers are marked against the paper's answer key when you submit, and spelling counts. Your score out of 40 becomes a band, and you can check every question you got right or wrong.

Correct answers for each band

Correct answers out of 40, and the band they give.

How to get more answers right

  1. Read ahead

The questions follow the order of the recording. Look at the next few, so you know what to listen for.
  2. Write as you listen

Each recording plays once. Put your answer in as soon as you hear it, then move on.
  3. Keep to the word limit

If the instruction says no more than two words, a three-word answer loses the mark.
  4. Use the last 2 minutes

Check your spelling and fill every gap. A blank gets no mark.
