What is LEAP?

LEAP is the AI study coach in Leap English Pathways, for PTE and IELTS. LEAP reads your own results, recordings and essays, explains your marks and suggests what to practise next. Every number LEAP gives you comes from your own practice.

Is LEAP free?

Yes, to start. On your first marked result, LEAP's first look is free. A free account also gets 4 replies from LEAP, and 3 Say it again tries each day. Pro gives you 40 replies and 50 Say it again tries each day.

Is PTE scored by AI?

Yes. Pearson scores PTE Academic with its own scoring engine, a computer, so every answer is marked by the same rules. Leap English Pathways marks your practice the same way: reading and listening with Pearson's published rules, and speaking and writing with our engine, on Pearson's traits.

How does AI scoring work for PTE?

Reading and listening answers are marked with Pearson's published rules. For speaking, our engine listens to your recording, checks your content against the task, and scores pronunciation and fluency separately, each out of 5. Writing is scored on Pearson's traits for each question type.

Can AI mark IELTS writing and speaking?

Yes. Our engine marks each answer on the four official criteria, using the public IELTS band descriptors, and corrects your own sentences. Your first band score for Speaking, for Writing Task 1 and for Writing Task 2 is free.

How accurate are the scores?

They're estimates, not official Pearson scores or IELTS bands. Use them to see what to fix next. LEAP only uses the numbers from your own results, so the advice matches what you see on the page.

Sign in to Leap English Pathways and answer a question. Under your score, tap Ask LEAP what to do next. You can also open LEAP from the Ask LEAP button on any page of the app.
